Which is better, gas or diesel. Drive and talk

A commenter brought up a decision factor for him, which i think is the most relevant one.  How much speed do you need?   There is no doubt a gas engine can tow its maximum rated weight which in some cases is equal or greater than its diesel twin.  A diesel does it in ways a gas engine can never do.  Slightly better fuel economy, which adds up over the length of a trip or the life of the truck. For those of you living in the country, your life slower might be a bit slower, more planned and more deliberate.  I know when i lived in the city and tired to travel for some fun over the weekend everything was hastily planned and required the turn and burn that a diesel is great for. Now i leave the day early and take my time, or maybe even the scenic way. Or perhaps where i used to travel, i actually do those activities at home.  My needs changed to having a good local commuter which occasionally went on long trips.  I also needed a heavier duty truck for local and long distance hauling of big things.  So the f350 7.3 became my daily and a very affordable daily at that and hopefully is going to open the door to my F450 joining the team and being my HD work truck.  Good things are coming, i hope they are for my viewers too.
