EVMS Standardized Patient Program

From their earliest days at EVMS, students working with "standardized patients" learn practical communication and clinical skills that they'll need as health-care providers. Standardized patients are people specially trained to act out and mimic health conditions. They offer hands-on experience, physical exams and basic clinical skills — such as suturing — and provide feedback to ensure students are prepared to help real patients.
