Shabaz Hussain is a maestro
Shabaz Hussain is a maestro of the tabla - hand drums used in Hindustani classical and folk music. He is one of the foremost players of his generation and performs as a soloist internationally. Indeed, he won the prestigious "Son of Lahore" from the government of Pakistan in 2008 for his services to music. He has learned from masters of the art including Ustad Faiyaz Khan and Ustad Allah Rakha Khan. In this talk, Shabaz demonstrates the art of tabla playing, including demonstrating different styles and techniques.
