Greetings to all of you with the 9th video in Syria. Today I will be with you in the nightlife of Aleppo.
From the first day I came to Aleppo, I felt that this is a very special and powerful city. I already knew that there had been disasters many times in history. I have seen with my own eyes that Aleppo will always remain strong and will always renew itself. Let's see what happened to this ancient city in history:
Aleppo is one of the oldest and most important cities in Syria. It has been exposed to many disasters throughout history. Here are some important disasters in Aleppo's history:
1260 Mongol Invasion: In 1260, Hulagu Khan, the leader of the Ilkhanate branch of the Mongol Empire, invaded Aleppo and destroyed the city. The Mongols destroyed many structures in the city and carried out a great massacre.
1400 Tamerlane Invasion: In 1400, Tamerlane (Timur), the founder of the Timurid Empire, attacked Aleppo. Tamerlane, who took the city, made a great loot and destruction. Many historians state that Aleppo's population was almost completely destroyed at that time.
1822 Epidemics: In 1822, Aleppo fell under the influence of epidemics. A plague epidemic and cholera spread in the city, killing thousands of people. These epidemics greatly reduced Aleppo's population.
The Fire of 1873: In 1873, Aleppo faced a great fire. The fire destroyed the historical and commercial center of the city and destroyed thousands of homes and businesses.
2012-2016 Syrian Civil War: Aleppo became one of the most important fronts of the Syrian Civil War in 2012. The city has been the scene of violent clashes between the Syrian regime and opposition forces. During these conflicts, great destruction occurred in the city and thousands of people died. The historical texture and cultural heritage of Aleppo have been severely damaged.
These are just a few examples, and Aleppo has experienced many more disasters in its history. However, despite these disasters, Aleppo still exists as a city of historical and cultural importance.
