So the chapter in question is Brienne 7 from A Feast For Crows - I’m going to read over the last couple pages here and then I’m going to go over why it is very important for the story going forward, why it’s important for Brienne, and what Game of Thrones did instead, and why I don’t think it was a better alternative. Now let me get you caught up roughly to where we are in the story so you can follow the reading -

So at this point in the story, Brienne, Podrick, and Ser Hyle(Ser Hyle is not included in the show) have been lead to THe Crossroads where they meet Gendry - who Brienne keeps confusing with Renly and she thinks that she’s hallucinating or imagining things, but it’s because Gendry looks so much like Robert Baratheon, and if you remember - Renly’s resemblance to Robert is pointed out as well( this all plays on the “Seed is Strong” with the investigation from Ned in the first book) but Brienne is here in search of Catelyn’s daughters. While the journey starts with Brienne looking for Sansa, it becomes apparent that she might be on track to finding Arya. Now we as book readers know that Arya is off to Braavos and Sansa is in the Eyerie. And because of this, I think a lot of book readers felt that Brienne’s chapters were filler or rather dull, but I believe that there are very specific themes that author George RR MArtin is trying to hit here with Brienne, and I understand why some felt this was a heavy winded way to go about things - however, the fanbase seems to be coming around on the Brienne chapters - and I think the 7th and final chapter offer a lot of payoff for all that reading and maybe readers have grown to appreciate A Feast For Crows with more time -
