This is Exactly What I Need for the Drill Press Upgrade

The actuator from the reclining chair I tore apart a few years ago will be just the thing for raising and lowering the drill press table. It has a lead screw driven by a DC motor that's geared down, so the position will lock in place and may not need a separate locking clamp making it very convenient to use. While I've been doing more Speaker World projects, that doesn't mean I'm not going to be doing the shop projects that everyone likes. But in general I'm slowing things down and won't be putting out as much as I have in the past. I'll also be sticking to projects I really want or need, plus ones that I know will have the best chance of doing well, views wise. I've been doing this day in and day out for the last 12 years and I'm at the point where I can slow down and try to enjoy the fruits of my hard work over that time. Making the kind of videos I do for my main channel (full project builds) involve a lot of time, planning and work and I'm just not as motivated to work 16 hours per day, 7 days a week like I used to be. Therefore you can expect to see fewer projects from me from now on, but like I said in this video, I want them to be of better quality. Upcoming projects: -Drill Press Upgrades -Router base and template redux -New mini router table -Electric planer edge jointer -Stair treads (to my basement) -Solid wood dresser (to match my night tables and bed) -6" x 48" belt sander build from scratch -Solid wood front door for my house -Kitchen island table with solid cherry top -Banquette for kitchen -Kitchen / dining table and other projects as I think of them. I also want to rearrange and paint my workshop, hopefully that will happen this summer. So lots of interesting stuff ahead, but it will be more spread out.
