22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome may be as common as Down Syndrome, yet very few people are aware of this genetic syndrome. 22qDS can cause learning differences, developmental delays, heart defects, poor immune system, palate abnormalities, and low levels of calcium in the blood. Every aspect of 22q is treatable,  and early diagnosis and treatment of each symptom can improve general outcomes.
