Poland’s lakes start at Ełk - what a FANTASTIC LAKE side community and city 🇵🇱

We are in the middle of our summer adventure and tour of Poland. Leaving Bialystok we are heading into the heart of the lakes region of Poland. Today we will go to Elk county in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship to the city of Elk (Ełk) no less. Elk is the largest city in the historic Masuria region. This is the same Elk where Pope John Paul II said Mass in front of 300,000 in 1999 and later became the patron saint of the city.

Join me on this walking tour and travel vlog of Elk. We are going to leave the train station and walk to Elk Lake. Along the way we will see what the different apartments and houses look like, explore a famous park, check out a Catholic Church, eat a delicious local meal, and even find a ruined Teutonic Castle. When our walk is done we will take a dip in the picture perfect lake.
