I HAD AN IDEA... AND THAT IDEA WAS TO DELIVER 10,000 WATER PURIFYING STRAWS TO KIDS AND FAMILIES IN KENYA. Please help me achieve my goal (link to donate: http://bit.ly/2AwhduJ)
It's finally happening! To kick off 2018, I'm heading on a solo trip to Africa for 2 months -- from South Africa to Kenya & everywhere in between. This will be my first time in sub-Saharan Africa (I've only been to North Africa), so it's going to be a completely new experience, and I can't wait!
As my trip to Kenya comes closer, I've been educating myself about the people and culture of the countries I'll be visiting. I want to do as much as I can to help those living in poverty.
My research led me to the devastating water crisis in Africa, which is currently affecting 400 MILLION people and claiming 4,000 LIVES every day. Without clean water, you can’t stay in school, you can’t grow food, you can’t go to work and you can’t stay healthy. It hit me immediately.
I came across a product called THE STRAW, which makes any contaminated water source safe to drink.
You wear it around you neck, stick it in any water source and suck normally as the passing water gets purified into your body. It's an amazing product that caught my attention.
I pitched my idea to deliver 10,000 straws to a charity called Water is Life -- who’s mission is to provide clean drinking water, sanitation & hygiene education programs to schools and villages in poverty. They loved my idea, and introduced me to a village in Kisumu, Kenya, whose residents are in desperate need of drinkable water.
Kenya it is.
So that's the story of what has been happening... Now, I need YOUR HELP to bring straws to these kids and families who desperately need them.

Each straw costs $7, but any amount will contribute. If everyone following this page donates $1, that will be $15,000 raised. I will be making daily videos while on the ground, showing exactly which kids your money will be helping.

I've decided to personally donate 10 cents for every share this video gets -- so 1,000 shares is $100 donated, and 10,000 shares is $1,000 out of my pocket. Make me donate more.
Water is Life also agreed to donate 1 straw for every 10 shares -- so 1,000 shares is 100 straws, and 10,000 shares is 1,000 straws.
