In this video, I'm installing trail communications in my Tacoma. I won this Midland MXT105 in an Instagram giveaway courtesy of @blackhillstaco so shout out to him for that!
The Midland MXT105 is a GMRS radio that is perfect for overland communications. It's a 5-watt radio which should provide more than enough range for most trail rides with your friends. Having a radio is one of the best 3rd gen tacoma mods for off roading.
It's important to have an overland radio so you can communicate with people on your ride and also so you can contact someone else in an emergency. This Midland MXT105 radio also has NOAA channels so you can monitor the weather while out on the trail.
I installed this overland communication device on my Dashtop Multi Mount (DMM) system from The Taco Garage.
