What is the chicken tax? Well, it's an old tariff from the early 1960's that continues today that puts a 25% import duty on trucks imported to the USA.
Love the look of some of those overseas smaller trucks and wonder why we don't have them in the US? Blame Chickens! And the fact that for over 50 years our government has kept in place a tariff that keeps the prices of trucks artifically high to protect domestic manufacturers! Even as they have to work around it!
