Loon Mountain: Kancamagus 8

The Kancamagus 8, or Kanc 8 is the Northeast's first 8 pack. It's also the Northeast's first D-Line lift.  It replaced a high speed quad, which will be relocated to replace the 7 Brothers Triple next year.  The bottom terminal is the drive station and is inside a large building that also is the chair parking.  The lift is equipped with a direct drive, which is extremely quiet, and also eliminates the possibility of gearbox failures.  There are return terminals that are louder.  There is also a loading carpet at the bottom, and the chairs are equipped with heated seats.  It has all the same bells and whistles as the similar Ramcharger 8, but is in a different color scheme.  This won't be the only 8 pack in the east for long, as Loon's sister resort, Sunday River, is getting one this summer.
