Hexbug Larva -- How it Works

We talk with Bob Mimlitch, one of the inventors of the Hexbugs, about Larva, one of the 2011 releases from Innovation First, Inc.

Slightly larger than a fortune cookie this robotic creature "slithers" forward on smooth surfaces, propelled by special wheels that give it a unique "creepy" motion. A nose-mounted infra-red LED and sensor can detect such things as a leg of a chair, and change directions, accordingly. Don't use it on carpet, or in the bathtub. It is powered by 3 button cell batteries.
