This screencast with run you through the steps of how to use last known good configuration to get your Windows start-up back on its feet.
Last known good configuration is a great tool for fixing Windows boot problems. Every time your computer starts up normally Windows remembers all the settings from that boot.
If then on the next start-up there's a problem that stops Windows starting correctly tapping F8 as soon as you start your computer then selecting Last known good configuration from the advanced boot options will tell Windows to revert back to the settings is saved on the last good boot.
Along with safe mode this is one of the first things to try if your having start-up crashes.
