But it is also amazing on burgers or as the basis for the best grilled cheese ever. We like lots of jalapeno in our pimiento cheese - but you can add as much or as little as you like. Twitter: https://twitter.com/JanCharles Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jancharles/ Recipe: Jalapeno Pimento Cheese Ingredients: 16 ounces of cheddar cheese (preferably extra sharp) 1 large jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped 8 ounces of cream cheese 1/2 cup of mayonnaise 1 jar of chopped pimentos, drained 2 teaspoons of garlic powder 1 teaspoon of onion powder 1 teaspoon of black pepper 1 teaspoon of kosher salt Instructions: Shred the cheddar cheese to make 4 cups of shredded cheese. It's recommended to shred your own cheese to avoid fillers. In a food processor, pulverize the jalapeno pepper and mix it with the cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and kosher salt until smooth. Mix in the shredded cheese and chopped pimentos. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Note: You can adjust the spiciness of the pimento cheese by adding more or less jalapeno pepper. Also, extra sharp cheddar cheese is recommended for a stronger flavor, but you can use any type of cheddar cheese you prefer.
