This guided NSDR 10 minute meditation will calmly guide you into a state of relaxation and deep rest.
Non-Sleep-Deep-Rest (NSDR) is a term coined by Dr. Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist and professor of neurobiology at Stanford University. NSDR refers to a state of deep relaxation and rest that is distinct from both wakefulness and traditional sleep. It is a deliberate practice aimed at achieving profound restorative benefits for the mind and body.
⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MEDITATION RECORDING WHILST DRIVING OR OPERATING MACHINERY ⚠️
The primary goal of NSDR is to engage the body's parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and recovery. By intentionally inducing a state of deep rest, individuals can experience various benefits. Some of the potential benefits associated with NSDR include:
▽ Reduced stress: NSDR activates the relaxation response, leading to a reduction in stress levels. It can help calm the mind, alleviate anxiety, and promote a sense of tranquility.
▽ Restoration and rejuvenation: NSDR allows the body to recharge and restore its energy reserves. It promotes physical recovery, aids in muscle repair, and supports overall cellular regeneration.
▽ Enhanced mental clarity: Engaging in NSDR can improve cognitive function, mental clarity, and focus. It may contribute to increased productivity and creativity by allowing the mind to rest and recover.
▽ Improved sleep quality: Regular practice of NSDR can have positive effects on sleep quality. It can help regulate the sleep-wake cycle, promote deeper and more restful sleep, and reduce disturbances during nighttime sleep.
▽ Increased resilience: NSDR can enhance the body's resilience to stressors by improving the overall adaptive capacity of the nervous system. It can help individuals bounce back more effectively from challenging situations.
▽ Emotional well-being: NSDR can contribute to emotional well-being by reducing emotional reactivity, enhancing emotional regulation, and promoting a sense of calm and balance.
