Iznájar, the famous inland town with a beach!
The beautiful town of Iznájar is located close to the Sierras Subbeticas Natural Park, in the south of the province of Cordoba, in Andalucia. This town has all the services you may need, doctors, schools, camping, public transport, supermarkets, bars and good restaurants. It also offers a lot of leisure facilities, especially in spring and summer, when the temperature is ideal for water activities in the large lake that is located next to the town.
Some of the places of interest that you can visit in this famous town include The Patio de las Comedias, located next to the entrance to the Barrio de la Villa, it is one of the most beautiful and well-known sites in the area. The color of the flowers mix with the indigo blue of the patio decorations next to the central fountain located in the patio.
The Torre de San Rafael is located next to the Patio de las Comedias and is the only surviving old walled enclosure. Next to the tower there is a viewpoint from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the town of Iznájar, the lake and the surroundings. The castle can also be visited, inside you will find several rooms with different exhibitions with objects from its ancient history. Also, from its walls you can enjoy some of the best views of Iznájar.
Although the town is inland there is an artificial beach located on the Iznájar Lake, Valdearenas Beach. where you can enjoy the warm sunshine of Andalucia, also next to this beach there are several bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the cuisine of the area.
