But it's not just the speed of the pitch that makes you flinch, it's also the mechanics of the pitcher, catcher, and umpire working together to deceive you at every step of your process. But there is a way to hit fast pitching successfully; I'm going to show you exactly how.
This video is a step-by-step guide on how to hit fast pitching in baseball. There are 13 steps, but let's pretend there are only 8. I'm going to show you how to hit fast pitching by breaking down the components that make up hitting. These components include: 1) Stance and Positioning (how your body looks at the moment of impact) 2) Hand Placement (you need to know where your hands are at all times) 3) The load (ball comes, then you go) 4) Leveling Plane 5) Upper Body Stability 6) Lower Body Stability 7) First Step 8) Swing Fluidity 9) Release 10) Follow Through 11) Patience (not giving into your eyes and hands), and 12) Failure vs Success. Basically, we're fine-tuning the skill of hitting fast pitching. There's so much more to it, but this is basically a quick breakdown of what you have to do to hit fast pitching properly.
