A look at the mods I made to a Harbor Freight Fireman's hatchet to turn into into a usable small forest axe. It is 20" long and around 2lb total after modification. After a vinegar bath the Hamon Line was found to be about 1 1/2" back from the edge. This is a very low budget and easy to make small forest axe that you can use for bushcraft or just around the homestead or the wood pile. Consider this a cheap gransfors or wetterlings
