Want to know what causes anxiety? In today's video you will learn the 6 signs of anxiety, what cause anxiety (8 factors) and how to relieve anxiety by challenging 12 distorted thinking patterns so you can start experiencing inner peace of mind and tranquility in your life.

1. Signs of anxiety specifically generalized anxiety:
• Restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge
• Being easily fatigued
• Difficulty concentrating or mind going blank
• Irritability
• Muscle tension
• Sleep disturbance (difficulty falling or staying asleep, or restless unsatisfying sleep)

2. What causes anxiety is: a) stress in our life, b) genetics, c) brain chemistry, d) environmental factors, e) medical factors, f) substance abuse, g) distorted thinking patterns or worry thoughts about the future, h) and past or present experiences where you were vulnerable and your emotional, physical or interpersonal safety and security was threatened or unstable.

3. You can know how to relieve anxiety by challenging distorted thinking patterns which include:
• All-Or-Nothing Thinking -- You see things in black-and-white categories.
• Overgeneralization -- You see a single negative event as a never-ending pattern of defeat.
• Mental Filter -- You pick out a single negative defeat and dwell on it exclusively so that your vision of reality becomes darkened.
• Disqualifying the positive -- You dismiss positive experiences by insisting they "don't count."
• Jumping to conclusions -- You make a negative interpretation even though there are no definite facts that convincingly support your conclusion.
• Mind reading. You arbitrarily conclude that someone is reacting negatively to you.
• The fortune teller error. You anticipate that things will turn out badly, and you feel convinced that your prediction is an already-established fact.
• Magnification (Catastrophizing) or Minimization- You exaggerate the importance of things or you inappropriately shrink the importance of things you don't want to admit are true.
• Emotional Reasoning -- You assume that your negative emotions necessarily reflect the way things really are: "I feel it, therefore it must be true.
• Should Statements -- You try to motivate yourself through guilt ridden should statements.
• Labeling and Mislabeling --Instead of describing your error, you attach a negative label to yourself: "I'm a loser." Personalization -- You see yourself as the cause of some negative external event which in fact you were not primarily responsible for.
