Built in 1896, this prison was in use up until 1995. It was the location of controversial human pharmaceutical experiments which took place from 1951-1974 which was the subject of the 1998 book Acres of Skin by Allen M. Hornblum. At the time this video was made the prison had sat vacant for 19 years however it still saw use several times by Hollywood in films such as Up Close and Personal, Condition Red, Animal Factory, and most recently Law Abiding Citizen.
