It's often said that the high cost of living is driving people out of Hawaii.  For another year, we've seen Hawaii's population decrease, primirily due to the outmigration of many locals to the mainland.  But what is the reason for that?  Is it just because things are expensive?  I wanted to discuss why working class, middle class, and wealthy households may decide to leave Hawaii because I think there are many other factors that contribute to that decision.  And of the three income groups, I believe the middle class are the most likely to leave Hawaii.
