It has almost been a year since I've traveled. I am flying to Taiwan to see my family. The airport was very empty. I flew from Boston to San Francisco to Taipei. It was quite a long trip, but I eventually made it. Taiwan required us to fill out a few forms prior to and upon arrival. I was also able to buy a SIM card at the airport to complete the mandatory health check ins. After all of this, I was able to take a cab to my quarantine hotel. This hotel will be my home for the next 2 weeks. The view from the room was lovely. I could see Taipei 101! My first meal was very cute! It was ladybug-shaped steam buns with red bean filling and some other delicious sides. I will be working on a 13-hour difference to keep up with my team back in the US. The next morning, I went to my door to get my food and Starbucks order. The coffee was very needed. After my meal, I got to work. After I finished work, I had a snack. I saw someone outside my window waving and talking to another fellow quarantiner over the phone - so sweet! Today, I decided to order some take-out - stinky tofu and congee with crispy fried dough. I also show some of my other meals - hotel-provided meals, more animal-shaped steam buns, beef noodle soup, and bubble tea/boba (of course!). I turned 23 while I was in quarantine. My mom surprised me by sending me flowers, chocolate cake, and my favorite grapes! I give you a tour of my small hotel quarantine room. It was small, but it did have everything I needed. However, after 2 full weeks of living alone in there, I was quite glad to pack up and leave.
