To multiply 7`- 5 1/4" x 2` - 3 3/8", conversion to decimal feet is necessary.

Steps: 1 Write up inches and fractions of an inch as 12-based fractions. 2 Convert the 12-based fractions into decimals. 3 Add all decimals to the feet amount.
