Modern suspension lockouts give you the ability to fine tune your suspension for the exact terrain you're riding. Doddy, Neil, and Blake have some top tips for how to use your suspension lockouts.

Neil, Blake, and Doddy all use their lockouts differently for the riding they do:
Doddy: as he likes to ride technical climbs, he uses his lockout on it's "mid" setting. This gives him grip on rooty, loose terrain, and also ensures that the suspension can't sag, reducing the number of pedal strikes.
Neil: Neil tends to ride long fire-road climbs, and then one big downhill trail. So he only uses his lockout in its firmest position for climbing, giving him an effective pedalling position.
Blake: Blake uses lockout very differently. Partially locking out his suspension firms it up a bit, and so stops his bike sagging into steep take-offs.
