Harvesting Timber on Your Property - What You Need to Know

In this episode of "Ask a Forester," Texas A&M Forest Service's Jason Jones walks viewers through the process of harvesting timber on your property.

Remember that actively managed timberland provides more resources and benefits to our communities than unmanaged timberland.  From clean air and water, to a source of revenue, we should take pride in caring for this renewable resource.

If you're interested in harvesting timber on your property -- whether you're clear cutting, or just thinning out your forest (which we recommend) -- make sure and speak with a consulting forester. Consulting foresters will assist you in negotiating the value, the contract and the sale of your timber.
