In the last four years, under the Modi era, agriculture sector has seen various loan waivers & subsidies. Only 10 out of 99 irrigation projects were completed while Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) & National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) are yet to fructify. The share of agriculture in gross domestic product (GDP) is also seen to be reducing. The average share of agriculture in GDP has gone down from 5.2% to 2.4%. This, coupled with bumper production has impacted the sector dearly. Ashok Dalwai, CEO of National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), Siraj Hussain, Former Agricultural Secretary, and Anil K Gupta, Professor at IIM Ahmedabad discussed the key issues faced by the sector
