Deviated nasal septum is one
Deviated nasal septum is one of the causes that can produce a nasal obstruction consequently can lead to bit of sleep apnea if not dealt with especially if the deviation is associated with a bit of dust allergy wherein the tissues on the side walls of the nose are getting swollen and slowly both the nostrils are getting compromised. The breathing space starts getting narrow and leads to mouth breathing in the person especially in sleep and that precipitates the snoring and the deviation alone may not cause this much of a problems because if the deviation is toward one side, the other side is obviously going to be wider than the normal and consequently 100% of the breathing space is preserved. In case of an S-shaped bend, deviation is towards both the sides, then there is a compromise on both the sides and that is one situation where there is a sleep apnea in an isolated deviated nasal septum. Otherwise most of the times it is some other contributing factor besides the deviated nasal septum.
