Learn three methods to sharpen lawn mower blades with Mike who is a champion bladesmith. Mike demonstrates blade sharpening with a file. Then he use an angle grinder to sharpen a lawn mower blade. Lastly, Mike shows off a really cool belt grinder which has some similarities to using a bench grinder with a wheel. Mike emphasized the importance of the sharpness of the mower blade along with the strength of the blade. If a blade is razor sharp but too thin, then the edge will not hold. If it is not sharp enough, the blade with tear the grass rather than cutting the grass which can cause brown tips on the lawn. Enjoy the video.
