✅Today's recipe is Easy Tomato Sauce for Pasta with Canned Tomatoes!
Homemade Tomato Sauce for Pasta
Ingredients:
1 can (400g) peeled plum tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
A pinch smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
A pinch pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and chopped onion. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
Stir in dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
Pour in pre-peeled plum tomatoes along with their juices.
Break up the tomatoes using a fork or potato masher until the desired consistency is reached.
Simmer the sauce for 10 to 15 minutes, allowing it to reduce slightly and develop richer flavors.
Once the sauce has thickened and flavors have melded, remove from heat.
Use the sauce immediately or let it cool before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
