Symphony X - Out of the Ashes (Intro guitar cover & lesson w/ tabs)

This glorious intro belongs to my constant practice routine. It's a really tough spot for the picking hand. I don't know how the Master himself (Michael Romeo) does the picking but just for the extra challenge I try to alternate pick basically everything after the melody starts. There's just a few legato notes.

Transcribed by me. There may be errors but I think it's a very accurate tab :) The tuning is D standard (DGCFAD).
