If you use Microsoft Word or Excel on a daily basis. You should use some shortcut commands to save time. Sometimes, we want to use the previous action in our document, for example copy & paste, or bold text. We can repeat the last action very quickly. Follow the steps as shown in this video.

1. For demo purposes, I am selecting this word at the bottom.
2. Click on the Home tab, and then click on the Bold button.
3. This will bold my selected word.
4. Now, I want to repeat the same last action.
5. I keep my mouse cursor on this word, and will press the F4 key on my keyboard.
6. See, this has repeated my last action and makes the selected word in Bold.
7. One more time, I keep the cursor on this last word.
8. This time, I will press the Ctrl + Y keys on my keyboard, and see this has repeated the last action again.
9. This means you can use the F4 key or Ctrl + Y key to repeat your last action in Microsoft Word and Excel.
10. You can also add the repeat command button in the Quick Access Toolbar.
11. To do so, click on the Customize Quick Access Toolbar at the top.
12. From the Drop-down list, click on the More Commands…
13. Select the Redo command from the left side commands list, and click on the Add button.
