Australian Hyundai Accent Sport 1.6
Australian Hyundai Accent Sport 1.6 GDI Accelerator Issue.
Driver is not in control of throttle body and causing the car accelerates more than desired.
Live data shows the Throttle Body and Accelerator Pedal movement does not correlate once engine is running.
This issue causes the car to be impossible to drive at a constant speed.
The throttle is either on or off, not allowing car to maintain road speed.
This Sudden unintended acceleration, surging, jerking, hesitation, touchy accelerator problem is effecting 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 inc SR and Verna models
Reports of some i30, Elantra, Tucson, Santa Fe Genesis and Kia’s doing the same.
Does your Hyundai do the same, if so, report the issue to dealer.
If you are looking at reviews then keep this issue in mind when you test drive.
Try to stick to 40kph. Try to get 1200RPM(warmed up) in P.
Using cruise control allows you to maintain a constant speed but it is affected by this surge in power under particular situations.
Turning on the AC does seem to amplify the symptoms.
Update: 30-5-2018 Hyundai released software to improve driveability.
This helps 40kph driving and reduces the power surge with light acceleration.
