Restore drained peatlands and protect the climate? Yes, please! But how does that actually work?
Peatland restoration measures are to be implemented on a project area in Häsener Luch - a fen in Brandenburg that was drained by agriculture many decades ago. In this video, our peatland protection experts provide insights into their work on site. They explain why the road to climate protection is long, but more than worth it.

About the project:
The planned measures in Häsener Luch are part of the EU LIFE Multi Peat project, which NABU is implementing together with its international partners. A central goal: the restoration of a total of 698 hectares of degraded peatland in Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Ireland and Germany.
