It features a corgi sitting with its head bowed next to the Imperial Crown with a tennis ball placed on top of it by the crying dog.
The simple but powerful illustration, shared on Mike's Instagram Story on Monday 12 September afternoon, is the second tribute he has posted to his wife's grandmother, who was 96.
Mike captioned the moving picture with a red heart emoji.
The image was originally posted by Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald with the caption: "We are well-used to seeing the Sydney Opera House illuminated to mark significant events, but tonight’s image is above and beyond.
"The sails have been illuminated to pay respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II."
Zara could be seen kneeling down to read some of the messages accompanied by other Royal family members following a private church service at Crathie Kirk.
The mum-of-three is believed to have bonded with the Queen over their shared love of horses and they would regularly attend equestrian events together.
Her husband Mike, who married Zara in 2011, has previously spoken about his admiration of the Queen, describing her as an "amazing woman".
He told The Telegraph: "I can only say how kind they've been to me, and how welcoming they've been to me since joining the family. And how they've made my family welcome.
"I've always felt part of it and I think that's down to what an amazing woman the Queen is. They're a fantastic family."
Her Majesty the Queen was transported from Holyroodhouse to St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, which was followed by a vigil.
