How to glue and trim worktop edging strips tutorial for beginners. Kitchen installations can be expensive and a lot of people are choosing to do their own installation but when it comes to worktop installations and finishing the edges, things can get a bit tricky and a good finish will make all the difference.
These days you can buy pre-glued edging strips but I think the Formica strips that is supplied with your worktop are superior.
Router trimmers make things a bit easier and faster but these tools come at a price and it’s not always worth the purchase especially if you doing a DIY installation and you defiantly do not want to spend money on tools you only going to use once. For anybody that is doing worktop edging watch this video to show you how you can glue trim and finish your worktop edging strips with hand tools that will not brake the bank.
Just follow my simple tutorial that will hopefully guide you in the right way to getting a good professional finish on those edges.
They key is to be patience, practice on a off cut before doing your fitted worktop.
Always apply solvent glue in a well ventilated area and I recommend getting a good mask and gloves to protect you from fumes and dust and sticky glue all over your hands.
Protect the area from glue by placing the edging strip on a cardboard, thus ensuring you do not get glue on any surface.
