The Boat - The 1ST LAUNCH (Almost)
Howdy!
A beautiful day invited all the boys to try out the 1978 Evinrude 85 HP! With the lower unit completed and reinstalled, we all decided to test the boat for leaks and also to test the new upgraded shift detent in the lower unit. The Evinrude runs like a champ!
However, we found a few leaks, including a crack in the transom mounting bolt. This problem tempts us to rebuild the transom with a reinforced beam and perhaps a few layers of fiberglass interior.
Despite our new discoveries, we are super proud of the Evinrude!
We had a great day outside, and eagerly await a finished rig.
