Have you heard about NIDS?

The National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS) is the first and only national longitudinal (panel) study of individuals in South Africa. With data collected every two to three years since 2008 (each data collection round is referred to as a ‘wave’). It provides unique insights into the livelihoods of South Africans over time. The study aims to facilitate evidence-based policy-making and contribute to the monitoring of policy implementation.

NIDS is an initiative of the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) implemented by the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) at the University of Cape Town (UCT). For more information visit http://www.nids.uct.ac.za/
