Projects prioritizing in public sector, I am providing 4 videos (please check our YT channel below) with examples on planning for government projects from early initiation stage to construction. This method is applicable to developers in private sector to ascertain extend.
There will be four videos. I used project portfolio management prioritizing methods for highways as example. It could be any type of projects, however, there are differences on how we think about it. Highways are good examples because you can initiate the planning form good detailed terrains Ariel maps which give us the visualization to put our data on it to start the initial planning.
The first video discuss how to plan the highways prioritizing using the statistics data and location map on the initial stage. After that, pre-feasibility, design and construction stages. It discuss only, here what we can suggest to the consultants and contractors to study, design and build as part of writing TOR scope before starting the projects. It is client side analysis. After that, full studies to choose the right option and estimate of cost will be conducted. To finalize the options priority, we evaluate its cost and construction schedules to prioritize the projects.

The Second video is calculating the initial cost using Excel only. It thinks also about planning using Excel to compare later with the ability of Excel comparing to Primavera P6 professional in the third video P6 EPPM in the fourth video.
The thirds video (this video) is using planning and scheduling techniques together including planning the cash flow and construction stages. It uses Primavera P6 Professional Management Software to visualize the planning of the projects and how can we allocate the budgets over years for the projects based on different scenarios and prioritization criteria.
The fourth video demonstrating the portfolio management in Primavera P6 EPPM and the different data in the established dashboards.
