These two psychedelic themed commercials by Levis was a way of reaching out to a new generation that Levis wanted to market specifically to.
If the late 60s created the hippie culture, the 70s took it, repackaged it and exaggerated what it was about. It wasn't any longer about freedom of speech and/or freedom of self but now it was something you could buy right off the shelf. Hair got longer, clothes got 'louder' and what was once flower power became consumer power.
Narrators and voice actors Ernie Anderson and Ken Nordine were used for the advertisements.
