Alfred Edward Perlman was a
Alfred Edward Perlman was a railroad executive during the middle of the 20th century. He would quickly distinguish himself as one of the best railroad managers in the world by having a knack for forward-thinking plans and the rehabilitation of struggling lines through reorganization and modernization. While his legacy is often stained due to his scrapping of many steam locomotives, particularly on New York Central, he did this out of necessity and managed to save multiple struggling companies during his career.
