Madhuri Dixit made her acting debut in 1984 with a leading role in the drama Abodh. Madhuri Dixit's first hit movie was N. Chandra's action romance Tezaab, opposite Anil Kapoor. In 2008, the Government of India awarded Madhuri Dixit with Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour of the country.
