It’s the Deep Gray showdown. Which stunning laptop is right for you, the HP Omen or the HP Spectre x360? ►⏩►⏩ Check specs and pricing in the links below…

I have run the HP Omen and the HP Spectre x360 through 14+ creator focused benchmarks covering video editing in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, motion design, graphic design, photo editing, and more.

💻 HP Spectre x360 i7-10750H ( https://geni.us/Spectrex360-1650Ti - Commission Earned )

💻 HP Omen 15 ( https://geni.us/Omen15-R7-16GB - Commission Earned )

Kicking things off with the build quality, the HP Omen and the Spectre x360 both come in in a deep gray matte finish that truly stands out amongst the competition. However each has its own unique spin on the matte gray finish. The Spectre shows off its regal design aesthetics--deep gray surfaces with gold trimmed beveled edges, whereas the HP Omen has a classic laptop chassis with a clean iridescent emblem on the top cover.

If you’re looking for discrete professionalism I would go for the HP Omen, which shocks even me saying it being that it is a gaming laptop. Now if you want to show off a little then go for the Spectre x360 with its flashy gold accents.

As far as the durability is concerned the Hp Spectre seems slightly more rigid than the HP Omen, and comes in an all-aluminum chassis. The HP Omen contains some aluminum as well but it is only found on the keyboard deck. So as far as tough is concerned the Spectre x360 is the tougher of the two. That’s not to say I don’t like the HP Omen. It has solid build quality, the Spectre x360 just has more aluminum on its chassis.

The HP Omen comes with:
x2 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
USB 3.2 Gen 2
USB-C 3.1
HDMI 2.0
Mini Display 1.4
SD Card Reader
Network Port
Mic/headphone combo

And the Spectre x360 comes with:
USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
USB Type-C
Thunderbolt 3 USB-C
HDMI 2.0
MicroSD reader
Mic/Headphone Jack
Webcam Kill Switch

Concerning the on the go capability of these two laptops the:
HP Spectre x360 weighs in at 4.23 Lbs at a thickness of 0.79 inches
Where as the HP Omen weighs in at 5.43 Lbs at a thickness of 0.89 inches

Concerning battery life the
The HP Spectre x360 will get roughly 8 - 9 Hours Web browsing / 5 - 6 hours Design and Video Editing out of its 72.9Wh battery.
Whereas the HP Omen will get roughly 5 - 6 Hours Web browsing / 3 - 4 hours Design and Video Editing with its 70.9Wh battery

The HP Omen comes with a 15.6 inch FHD display that can reach 320 nits at full brightness. It has a color gamut range of 99% sRGB - 72% Adobe RGB - 72% DCI-P3 with a Delta-E of 4.42

For a gaming laptop this is quite impressive.

Now for the HP Spectre with its 4k OLED display, it can reach 400 nits at full screen brightness and has a color gamut range of 100% sRGB - 99% Adobe RGB - 99% DCI-P3 with a Delta-E of 1.74.

Both the HP Spectre x360 and the HP Omen come with all in one trackpads with the click built in. They are well engineered with no shakiness where it is mounted to the laptop. The click is quiet and smooth on each of these laptops. To me this feels great while conducting video edits, designing in Adobe’s design suite, and more.

But I will add that I adore the HP Omen’s trackpad above many that I have used. It has an excellent matte finish that feels slightly tacky beneath my finger as I drag my finger across it.

The HP Spectre x360 I am reviewing comes with:
CPU: Intel 10th Gen Core i7-10750H (6 Cores 12 Threads)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Storage: 512GB SSD

Whereas the HP Omen comes with:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H (8 Cores 16 Threads)
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Storage: 256GB SATA SSD

If you’re looking for a laptop that has classic styling, great pen capabilities with an articulating screen, excellent performance in Adobe’s design suite, plus it gives you some solid 1080p video editing capabilities, and light 4k, all packed inside a well-built aluminum chassis then I would consider the HP Omen.

However if you want a gorgeous regal laptop with a deep gray finish and gold beveled edges, performing slightly better in Adobe’s design suite, but I will warn you against video editing on this specific spec’d model, but you do have excellent color gamut range and solid pen sensitivity and full articulating screen, then I would snag the HP Spectre x360.
