I have posted portions of this documentary overtime on my YouTube channel. But here is the long form film close to what ran on TV back when I first made this with Rocky Collins.  Nettie Mitchell was a spectacular person who was very careful about the details of her stories. The story has been questioned by several who think they have proven elements of it to be incorrect. My experience is that they are wrong. We spent about nine months researching the story in and around Fayette Maine. Emmeline was a real person who lived a life something like the one that he describes. She was ostracized and shunned and died of starvation. Many commentators on my channel have pointed out the Oedipus complex and its relationship to this story and others have pointed out that people who are blood relatives but who have never met can find a feeling which they can hardly describe of intimacy and closeness which is beyond our understanding. I believe that to be true. Although some of the exact dates may be wrong, Emmeline was abused in the Massachusetts mill where she worked and sent home without the child she birthed. I thank Nettie for telling me this story, author Judith Rossner for the book Emmeline which she wrote after I brought her the story and Tobias Picker who wrote an opera based on the story. I also think YouTube for allowing me to presented and as a result, to be regularly offered other stories by people who have experienced similar situations in their lives.
