US HEAT WAVE
A massive heat wave in the US is breaking records, and breaking people into a sweat. Yep, while many of us here in Australia are doing everything we can to stay warm, millions of people in the US are doing the polar opposite. From pumping their ACs, to visiting waterparks, to stopping by cooling centres! I mean you know it's hot when crayons melt like this. More than 160 million people across the West and East Coasts, and in regions in the south are under heat alerts and Las Vegas is experiencing its most extreme heat wave since 1937, with five days in a row reaching more than 46.1 degrees! Some people have ended up in hospital and even died. These extreme temperatures are part of a bigger trend over the last year, which experts say has a lot to do with climate change. In fact, according to the EU Climate Monitor, every month since June last year has broken its heat record. While forecasts for the US aren't showing much sign of relief just yet, people are being told to do whatever they can to stay safe and cool.

DE MINAUR
Alex De Minaur has pulled out of his Wimbledon quarter-final. The Aussie suffered a hip injury during his last match against Arthur Fils on Monday. De Minaur was set to play Novak Djokovic, who will now head straight through to the semi-finals.

EUROS
England has made it to the final of the men's European soccer championships after a 2-1 win over the Netherlands. Xavi Simons opened the scoring for the Dutch, before Harry Kane converted a penalty for England. Ollie Watkins then scored the winner in the 90th minute. England will play Spain in the final on Monday morning Australian time.

HEYWIRE
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, we've been bringing you First Nations stories from all around Australia. Today, we're going to meet Sienna from Albany in Western Australia. She's part of this year's ABC Heywire competition, which asks young Australians in rural areas to tell their stories.

LION RECORD
First up, to two African lions who have swum 1.5 kilometres through the croc-infested Kazinga channel in Uganda, breaking the record for the longest swim done by a lion. And one of them only has 3 legs! Researchers say the unusually long swim is likely because these guys are looking for a mate, and have had no luck so far in the national park where they're from.

WHALE SURPRISE
Now across the Atlantic ocean, where a pod of whales has intercepted a British rower off the coast of Newfoundland. Tom Waddington is rowing all the way from Canada to the UK in an attempt to set a new world record.

SPIDER CRAB INVASION
And finally, to the waters of Coffin Bay in South Australia. Where giant spider crabs have been turning up in surprisingly large numbers. Spider crabs are pretty mysterious creatures, so nobody's quite sure why they've all turned up here, but it's likely they've all come together to shed their shells as a way to protect themselves from predators.
