DIY Cardboard Bookshelf
Hey Crafters and Creators out there!
Lets get our hands dirty in building this DIY Cardboard Bookshelf. An easy to make, DIY, kids friendly bookshelf. This inexpensive bookshelf adores the home library of our little readers. Toddlers love this bookshelf as they get a sense of belonging and ownership looking at this cute build by their loved ones. With the increasing love for books among our kids this bookshelf sits well near bedside or at the kids room corner, giving a quiet time for themselves, encouraging them to read more, building a sense of organization and maintenance.
With the day by day increasing availability of home delivery and the amount of cardboard boxes, filler stuffs that end up at home occupying more space than the actual item that comes in the box, these cardboard boxes has become an essential member of our household.
As a measure to repurpose those cartons lying around and to hold few bucks instead of getting a furniture item right away, I wanted to try this DIY Cardboard bookshelf. Now I have two of these lying around, one full sized at the living room and one half sized at the bed side.
This bookshelf can also be a great treat for olders kids and adults, be it placed at the bedside or window side ;)
With the core material being cardboard this bookshelf opens up the space for our creativity as well. Where you may want to paint the whole bookshelf, decorate it with your own paintings, adore it more with stickers or wrapping papers, have you favourite super hero/heroines etched on the sides, even beautiful motivation quotes can be printed at each shelf line.
Build one bookshelf for yourself, by yourself and you will feel the happiness and pride when you pull a book and sit to read.
To just open up an idea that was in my mind when building this bookshelf, I wanted to give it a unicorn theme to suit a girls' room or super heroes theme to suit a boys' room, but then ended up wrapping it with wood shade contact paper to match other furnitures in my living room.
