Come along on our first trip exploring Taiwan (台灣)! We didn’t know what to expect and – spoiler – we fell in love. From Taipei (台北) to Kaohsiung (高雄), this beautiful island feels like a 'hidden gem.' As you know we started our Taiwan travel in Taipei and Jioufen, and the next morning we took an awesome high-speed train to our next location, Kaohsiung. Taiwan's bullet train or Taiwan High Speed Rail (HSR) is a 300km/h bullet train. Honestly it is super easy to use the trains here in Taiwan – the system is so simple to just jump on and off - highly recommend using them during your trip.
After a quick fun train high speed train ride we arrive in the southern coastal city of Kaohsiung. During our tour of Kaohsiung we have come across so many friendly locals and Taiwanese traditions, who have helped us see the best things in the city.
