आज पूरे देश में जन्माष्टमी का पावन पर्व मनाया जा रहा है। भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का जन्मदिन भाद्रपद माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि पर जन्माष्टमी के रूप में बड़े ही धूमधाम के साथ मनाई जाती है। इस दिन भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के बाल स्वरूप बालगोपाल की विशेष पूजा आराधना करने का महत्व होता है। हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार हर वर्ष भाद्रपद माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी तिथि को भगवान कृष्ण का जन्मोत्सव मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष यानी 30 अगस्त, सोमवार के दिन श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी हर्षण योग में है। इस योग को बेहद ही शुभ योग माना गया है। इसके अलावा श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी के दिन कृत्तिका और रोहिणी नक्षत्र भी रहेगा जिस कारण से इसका महत्व कई गुना बढ़ गया है। जन्माष्टमी की तैयारी बहुत दिन पहले से ही होने लगती है और जन्माष्टमी के दिन पर लोग एक दूसरों को श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी की शुभकामनाएं भेजते हैं। ऐसे में आप भी अपने दोस्तों, रिश्तेदारों और परिवार के सदस्यों को कुछ श्रीकृष्ण जन्माष्टमी की बधाई संदेश भेज सकते हैं।

The birth of Lord Krishna, believed to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, is celebrated every year with much fervour. Called Janmashtami or Gokulashatami, it is usually observed on the eighth day or Ashtami of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Shravan or Bhadrapad. This year, Janmashtami falls on August 30, 2021.
Krishna puja is usually conducted at midnight; the ritualistic puja includes 16 steps which are part of the Shodashopachara puja vidhi.
Believed to be one of the most powerful incarnations of Vishnu, Krishna was born in a dungeon in Mathura where his parents were imprisoned. Owing to a threat to his life, he was swiftly taken to Gokul to be raised by his foster parents, Nanda and Yashoda.
