SINGAPORE : The Workers' Party
SINGAPORE : The Workers' Party held its first Meet-the-People session on Monday at Aljunied GRC.
The party's chairman, Sylvia Lim, met residents from the Serangoon division.
More than 60 people gathered at Block 146 Serangoon North Avenue 1, just five minutes into the start of the session.
A few were there not because they had problems but just to show support for the newly elected MP.
Ms Lim, who was a Non-Constituency MP for the past five years, said she looks forward to finally being able to serve residents.
Ms Lim, Workers' Party chairman and MP for Aljunied GRC, said: "Obviously, it's a new chapter for us - the Workers' Party and for me personally.
"Finally, we have a mandate from the people to hold a Meet-the-People session, to represent them in whatever appeals that they may have with the government department. So it's really quite something!"
Meanwhile, fellow Aljunied team member Chen Show Mao also held his first Meet-the-People session on Monday at the Paya Lebar division.
