After a morning visit to Gloucester to verify clearances in Gloucester lock,  in particular the wheel house crane and superstructure under the raised lift bridge across the lock, mv TRANSIENT heads south through Saul Junction.
Built in 1964 with a length of 57metres, TRANSIENT is now owned by S Walsh & Sons, and renamed SWS THURROCK.
In 2014 she could be found moving fully laden on the tidal River Thames through London.
It is normal and best practice to allow large craft to clear the slight "S" bend between Junction bridge and Sandfield bridge without meeting other moving craft in the bend, and certainly not to impede their movement. On this occasion, TRANSIENT is temporarily held by the flashing red light to allow a northbound narrowboat into the same section.
